Our next meeting is April Fool's Day, Monday, April 1 at 6:30pm, Guitar Solutions in beautiful downtown Ontario. We welcome new members, so bring a friend, or two, or three!

I'm working on our website to add a page that lists our songs. In the future, I hope to have all the links on one page. Please bear with me as I figure this out. For now, check all the previous posts to print out all the songs.

As promised, here's the new, improved version of THE UNICORN:

THE UNICORN SONG

June sent in this John Denver song. It sounds great on the uke!

COUNTRY ROADS

Dreaming of summer? Here's the perfect song, courtesy of Maureen. "Oh, pool boy! I'm ready for another!"

MARGARITAVILLE

We've also added BIRDS AND THE BEES from the Doctor Uke website:

BIRDS AND THE BEES

Hope to see everyone on Monday!

I have taken THE UNICORN down to fix the chart--some of the chords were wrong. If you've already printed it, check back later for the new chords, or we can give them to you at our next meeting on April 1.

Thanks to the strummers who've requested songs! Your input is welcomed! I'll get them up as soon as I can.

Top 'O the Mornin' to ye!

Our next meeting will be March 18--the day after St. Patrick's Day. In the spirit of the season, I'm posting a few Irish songs . I hope you enjoy them!

Next meeting: Monday, March 18, 6:30--8:00pm, Guitar Solutions

COCKLES AND MUSSELS

DANNY BOY

WHEN IRISH EYES ARE SMILING

Next meeting: Monday, March 4 at 6:30 at Guitar Solutions!

Here are a few new songs. Please check back again before our meeting as I might have a few more.

Georgy Girl was a hit song for the Australian Group, The Seekers, in about 1968,. You can watch it on Youtube. It was also the theme song for the movie with Lynn Redgrave.

GEORGY GIRL

Our next song is posted by Kory. Let It Be is a Beatles tune, also from the sixties. Hmm, maybe we should all wear tie-dye to the next meeting!

LET IT BE

Here's a chart from Maureen, by way of Kory. Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy was originally by the Andrews Sisters and there is also a newer version by Bette Midler.

BOOGIE WOOGIE BUGLE BOY

There will be a uke group meeting on Monday, February 18.

Here's a song Kory brought last week:

ON TOP OF SPAGHETTI

Here's a song I posted a few months ago. This version is in the key of D. You might want to have both versions (C and D) in your book.

I'LL FLY AWAY

Happy Groundhog Day!

Our next meeting is February 4, 6:30--8:00pm at Guitar Solutions in Ontario.

Here's a couple of new songs to try. "Shotgun Boogie" is a Tennessee Ernie Ford song from the 1950's. It only has three chords, AND it's in C, so I know that will please some of you.

SHOTGUN BOOGIE

"Kiss Me"  by Sixpence None the Richer, was featured in several movies, including "How to Lose a Guy in Seven Days". It looks hard, but the run down from C, CMaj7, C7 only uses one finger. Easy-peasy! I'll show you at our next meeting.

KISS ME

See you Monday!

Greetings!

Our next meeting is Monday, January 21 at Guitar Solutions as 6:30. Here are a couple of new (old) songs to try. See you there!

BUILD ME UP BUTTERCUP

I'M A BELIEVER

Next meeting: January 21
Guitar Solutions, 6:30

Brrr!! Bad weather kept most folks home. Tim and John and Judy braved the icy roads and played just a few songs. We left early so Bill and Deanna could close the store. I hope we see some sunshine soon--and I hope the weather will cooperate on Ukulele Group nights!
